Patrick Simčič Wines
Brda offers very good climatic conditions for the production of top-quality grapes and, of course, top quality wine. This means we have the warmth that comes from the sea and the fresh breath of the beautiful Alps. The mix of both, warm days and cool nights, suits their vines very well. In addition to the pleasant climate, Brda has another factor that helps to produce good grapes, and that is its flysch soil “opoka". Modest soils, but rich in minerals. Several vineyards are cultivated on 11 hectares in the village of Biljana. The location of the vineyards for each variety has been carefully selected according to the conditions required by the variety. As Brda is a hilly region, the vineyards are also terraced on the slopes of the hills. The vineyards where the grapes for the sparkling wine are grown are located in the lowlands. The vineyards are mostly worked by hand, especially during the harvest, when the grapes are hand-harvested. There is no machine to replace the human hand. This is a key factor in achieving the quality of the wine, as each grape must be individually inspected before it is processed. They offer 7 wines, 3 from the classic line: Rebula, Sauvigninasse (Tokaj), Ideja (white Cuvee), 1 wine from the Selekcija line: Moja Rebula Selection (orange wine), 2 red wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Sophia (cuvee, barrique) and a sparkling wine Pavlina, which is a classic extra brut method. All wines have been awarded both here and abroad.
You are invited for a day break in Brda, where you will be offered a tasting of sparkling wine, various still wines, extra virgin oil and aged wine vinegar, with a magnificent view stretching from the Alps to the sea.
