Marica House

The old renovated homestead was named after "Nona" Marica (Grandmother Marica), who spoiled children with simple but excellent local dishes.

The House of Marica is situated within the majestic walls of the picturesque medieval village of Šmartno. Once a military fort,

today, a romantic place, where it seems that time stopped long ago.

RESTAURANT

The Marica House is located in the village center, in the ground floor there is a restaurant with a beautiful terrace on the street.

The restaurant offers traditional cuisine, based on seasonal and local ingredients. Therefore, we do not have a permanent dining list, but it changes on a weekly basis. Daily we propose two menus based on local ingredients, which are mainly produced by us or bought from surrounding farmers. In spring and summer we also offer a menu with fresh fish from Soča river.

We are especially proud of our prosciutto, salami, pancetta and other meat delicacies that are produced under the roof of our homestead Belica in Medana with experience, knowledge and love to tradition.

Along to local cuisine, we of course offer top quality wines from Brda, from our cellar Belica in Medana.

ROOMS

Stone staircase leads to the first floor, where guests can choose among traditionally renovated spacious rooms, each marked with authentic Mediterranean character.

 All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with SAT TV, rustic wooden furniture and wooden beams. The bathroom has a shower, hairdryer and free toiletries.

Prices include breakfast, on the basis of homemade specialties.

Children under 7 years free of charge.

All rooms are located on the first floor. Elevator is not available.
