MRAK FARM
The story of the Mrak family from Dolnje Cerovo is closely linked to nature, the land of Brda, viticulture and winemaking. It combines traditional methods of grape and wine production with modern technologies and introduces new approaches to winemaking. The result is excellent varietal wines - wines with character.
With great youthful enthusiasm, Patrik Simčič has taken over the management of the farm in recent years, entrusted to his mother decades ago by his father, Alojz MRAK, after whom the brand was named. Each generation has tried to preserve and respect the family values of hard work, working together, constant improvements in the vineyards and cellars and respect for nature. The farm offers a wide range of wines, including whites: Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Muscat, Rebula, Malvasia, Sauvignonasse (formerly Tokaj). The reds are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Refosco and Pinot Noir. They are most proud of our Sauvignonasse and Pinot Noir. They have also added to their selection their first classically produced house sparkling wine.
The sun-drenched orchards are home to a variety of cherry varieties, from early to late. Harvesting takes about 6 weeks, followed by sweet apricots and juicy peaches. Seasonal fruit is sold mainly fresh, so they make sure it is healthy, picked at full ripeness, fresh every day, tasty, sweet and juicy. During the high season, they are also available for rent at the Central Market in Ljubljana.
