THE UPS AND DOWNS OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RENAISSANCE VILLA IN SLOVENIA - guided tour of Vila Vipolže

Walk through the turbulent past of this Renaissance gem. From a knight's fortress to the luxurious villa of the Counts Thurn and the sad neglect of the last 200 years to the restoration of its splendor in recent years. In the museum, various objects that were found in the villa and its surroundings during the renovation will tell us interesting stories. Models will show us its development over time and in the knight's hall we will try to feel the pulse of the villa during its greatest splendor. The frescoes are associated with an interesting legend about their creation and while admiring the stunning view, we will learn when and why the frescoes were vandalized over the centuries.
