Korada

Korada, a popular excursion point for many hikers, is a scenic peak located to the west of the Soča River and on the northern edge of the Goriška Brda. The 812-metre-high peak offers a clear view of most of the hills above the Soča River, from its source to its outlet into the Adriatic Sea.

Mountain trails lead to Korada from the centre of Brda, the Soča Valley and Sabotin. The locals below the mountain call it Kobalar, after the farm Pri Kobalarju. Just below the summit are the Church of Saint Genderca and a mountain hut, built on the foundations of military buildings from the First World War. Today, you can still admire the many meadow plants that are almost non-existent elsewhere in Brda. Along the way, you can also see traces of the First World War.
