BRDA WINE CELLAR MUSEUM

Visitors can visit an exhibition entitled Heroes of the Vineyards - A Walk through Centuries of Viticulture and Winemaking in Brda at the Goriška Brda Wine Cellar. It shows the development of winemaking from antiquity onwards, with a special focus on the cultivation of vines over time. Pictures, photographs, documents and artefacts take you on a walk through the two-thousand-year history of vine-growing and winemaking in Brda. The role played by Count Silverio de Baguer in the modernisation of viticulture in the last century is also illustrated. The customs and traditions of wine in Brda also feature prominently in the exhibition.
